Sharing a single GPS with 2 (or more) applications
In a traditional Windows environment, a single "COM" port is tied to one (and only one) application at a time. Thus, it is impossible to be running two (or more) applications with the same GPS signal at the same time.
There is, however, an application that allows the GPS signal to be distributed to multiple "virtual" COM ports. It also has a ton of other interesting features for making and troubleshooting GPS connectivity issues. This application is "GPSGate" and can be found at http://gpsgate.com/products/gpsgate_client/.
While we employ this application in our Q/A lab, we can not offer support for its specific use with our family of navigation software products.
