How to install TNP Mobile Maps (SD card) on my Android device

Note: The TNP SD Cards are no longer available for purchase. They have been replaced with TNP Mobile Maps.

First register your TNP Mobile Maps (SD card):

Android devices with microSD cards slots

Most Android devices have a microSD card slot. Locate the slot (it's usually near the battery compartment) and follow these step-by-step instructions.

• Plug included memory card into Android-powered phone or tablet.

• Install TNP mobile app on your Android device. To install, go to the Google Play Store on your device and search for "TNP". Download the app.

• Launch app on your Android. From the main screen, go to the Offline Maps screen to see a list of all the maps on your device. To view maps on SD card, go to the Map screen, select Layers button, and pick Topos. Watch offline topos load into your device. Once installed, these maps are viewable without cell or data signals.

Android devices without microSD card slots

Some Android devices, like the Nexus 4 or Moto G, do not have a slot for microSD cards. Here's how to install TNP Mobile Maps:

• Plug TNP Mobile Maps (SD card) into your PC or Mac.
• Plug your Android device into your computer. Follow the instructions on the Android device to enable you to mount the device’s internal storage to be visible on your computer. (The device will be listed as an external drive).*
• Create a folder called “TrimbleMapBundles” on your device’s memory card at the root of your mounted device’s internal storage (at the same folder level as DCIM, Music, Movies, etc.).
• Copy all files from your TNP Mobile Maps (SD card) to the new folder on your device.**
• Disconnect Android device from the computer.
• Install our free TNP mobile app on your Android device. To install, go to the Google Play Store on your device and search for "TNP." Download the app. Note: Don't pay for our pro app. Our TNP Mobile Maps unlocks all the pro app features, plus much more.
• Launch app on your Android. From the main screen, go to the Map Packs screen to see a list of all the maps on your device. To view maps on SD card, go to the Map screen, select Layers button, and pick Topos. Watch offline topos load into your device. Once installed, these maps are viewable without cell or data signals.

*Some devices will mount as two drives: one may be called “phone storage” and the other may be called “internal storage.” Use “internal storage” for this process.
** Your device’s internal storage may not have enough space for all maps found on the Off-the-Grid Maps (SD card). In that case, copy only the map files you need. For example, for only Apache County maps, select all the files starting with “Apache County." Important: Also copy the activationkey.txt, and the .tdkb file (example: Arizona.tdkb) onto your device. The .tdkb file holds important boundaries for hunt units/GMUs, counties, national parks, and wilderness areas. The activationkey.txt gives you access to all these maps in the app
