Show distance and/or bearings on maps when using distance tool
When mapping legals, it would be convenient to be able to be able to toggle a preference to display the distance and/or bearing for a printable or exportable map. Currently you have to create a comment.
This is already possible using the Polygon tool, which is much better suited for annotating areas than the distance tool. Create a Polygon, rather than a distance line, open Layers, Polygons, then turn on the line label options to indicate range, bearing or both.

This is okay after the parcel outline is created I guess ... just makes it into a two step process ...

No. This does not work for plotting parcels from a raw legal description. Using a polygon assumes that you already know where the corners are ..... which you do not when plotting from a legal. Using the measuring tool is necessary to determining the length and bearing from the starting point. The polygon tool does not appear to have that feature. It only labels distance and bearing of existing lines between points. it doesn't help you create them.
