Easily create shaded areas with different paterns.
For SAR planning in identifying areas and segments that have been searched. Could have multiple layers of paterns covering the same areas or segments to indicate different types of searches within.

You can do this already with the Route tool. Use the Toogle Loop function (either right-click or in the Edit Route window) to connect the first waypoint to the last - creating a polygon. Then in the Edit Route window, use the Fill/Loop options to create filled patterns of solid or semi-transparent colors.
