Not an idea but why is the map window black and not showing terrain?
Is your server down or something? My terrain window is black!

While not an idea, you should be aware:
1. The MapServer at http://mapserver.mytopo.com/ is based on code from the defunct Maptech company. While we will maintain it as long as possible, it is quickly reaching its end of life. When it does, it will go offline permanently.2. We are in the process of upgrading our main server. Our backup server is not able to support http://mapserver.mytopo.com/. When the new server is online, we will re-evaluate the http://mapserver.mytopo.com/ and repair it, if it is feasable to do so.
3. Free topo maps and aerial photos are available at our main site:
http://mytopo.com/maps
This is the replacement for the Maptech MapServer and is much more flexible in many aspects.
