grid cross
When printing maps, it would be great to be able to print just the gridline crosshairs where two gridlines would meet rather than the full gridlines. This reducing the number of possibly distracting lines on the map, but also provides users with access to the gridline locations (important for utm plotting, for example)

Be able to apply a template to existing objects like markers, tracks and polygons
I know you can create templates in Preferences for new objects like markers, tracks, and polygons but I'd like to be able to apply that template to existing objects to keep them consistent across multiple projects.

Allow Pointer color to be changed
It would be beneficial to be able to change the Map Pointer to a different color than white. Many times it is difficult to see where the pointer is because of a large amount of white in the map. If we could have the ability to change the pointer color it would be much easier to see.

Allow user to set order/hierarchy of overlays
If you have more than one layer that occupy the same space, there is no way for the user to set which one appears on top of the other. TNP makes this choice for you, which can create a layer to be hidden under another when you want it visible. For example I have a shapefile for every trail in my state, and others for specific trails (ski, snowmobile, etc.) which I want to be able to choose to be layered on top of (thereby visible) the generic trail layer.

Provide ability to use What3Words coordinates
What3Words at https://what3words.com/ is being used by several countries and delivery companies to provide an exact (10x10m) location for directions when normal addresses don't work well. I see this as an awesome, easy to use alternative to USNG and would like to see it supported in TNP, if possible.
For example, if I gave you this address: https://w3w.co/fixed.defends.overhaul
you would know to go to the front door of my work location instead of to the rear parking deck door. This coordinate system is getting more popular each day, especially for rural or highly congested locations.1 vote -
When will we be allowed to be able to create our own bitmap symbols?
When will we be allowed to be able to create our own bitmap symbols?
2 votesYou can already use whatever you want as a marker symbol, if it is available as a Font on your system. There are lots of font libraries available for download that contain every type of symbol imaginable. However, it would still be nice to use a bitmap as a symbol in TNP, which we will consider as we continue to revise and improve the software.

Provide the same color palette for labels as that available for polygons.
I would like to see the color palette for labels be expanded to match that provided for polygons. Would be great to have color selection for tracks match as well.

Date of Satellite/Aerial Photos
We used to be able to access acquisition dates of aerial photos through the "information" link on the photo; that now seems to be lost in TNP 11 (and there seems to be no way to determine when the satellite photos were taken - not even the year). In my work it is important to be able to reference the date of the photo - any way to provide that information again?
8 votesThe Aerial OrthoPhoto map type retains the ability to indicate the date (year) of the photo. In fact, each year available is listed as a Map Edition.
Unfortunately, the data provider for the higher resolution Satellite Imagery does not indicate the date of that image to us. Perhaps they will add this ability to their service in the future – at which time we can consider adding it to TNP.

Labels with more than 2 lines of data
I'd like to see labels that could have more than 2 lines, like Lat/Long/Elev. or even better yet 2 sets that would have lat/long/ d.m.s, and lat/long/d.d, and then elevation. And please get some different looking boxes, the ones offered now are terrible looking.

Make a "default print scale" preference
This would let you avoid having to remember to set the scale every time you want to print if you consistently use 1 scale. You would still be able to change the scale during the print function if desired.

Provide the ability to choose the line thickness of the polygon ID within the Legend on a map.
The line thickness that identifies a polygon within the map legend is too thin. This is a big problem especially when you have a lot of polygons.
The versatility to edit the map legend should be broadened in order to be more versatile.

Add ability to edit Polygon text Style/Font
When using the Polygon tool the automated text values are perfect for labeling search segments. However, we run into the issue of the tiny black numbers being difficult to see on printed aerial maps. We would like the ability to edit the Style of the text in order to, at minimum, change the size and color.
Right now we workaround the issue by using Labels, but this carries its own problems and can be cumbersome.

Export Parcel Data Attributes
I would like to see a way to get the parcel data attributes to come over whenever a track is created to export. Right now all we get is the track title which is usually manually typed in. A more efficient way to export parcels and their attributes would be very valuable.
