You can import KML/KMZ files directly into TNP as Overlays – open the Layers menu, choose Overlays and press Help for more details. Once imported, then the contents of the KML/KMZ file can have routes, tracks, and markers created from its data.
That said, it would be useful to import KML/KMZ files directly as routes, tracks and markers.

Great Idea, It would also be great to be able to change formatting globally to all markers.
