Edit more than one item at a time
When editing layers (such as markers, routes, tracks, etc.) I want multi-selection options so that I can change colors, styles, fonts, and delete all at once.

Yes, being able to group markers and tracks into sets within one project would make editing much easier.

Be able to edit tracks, markers, etc. within a project all at one time, rather than having to edit them one at a time.

Would be nice to uncheck "Display Name" for markers in Preferences and edit multiple markers as a group.

Very much appreciate this thread. At least I know why this feature doesn't exist and that there are others who desire this as well. In my work in natural resources industry it is an immensely arduous task to change markers manually when I find it is necessary.

Great Idea, It would also be great to be able to change formatting globally to all markers.

The Selection Tool in TNP 11 was a solid step forward.
I'd like to further suggest, along the lines of this request, that the multi-selection not be limited to dragging over a geographic area. For instance, let's say I have all sorts of entities on the map and just want to hide the Tracks that I've labeled with a certain name. I want to be able to, from the Edit (Layers) menu, select multiple entities and click to Hide them.
I understand that you are still a distance from multi-editing. But if it is possible to sneak in a multi-hide feature that is not restricted to geographic selection, that would be extremely helpful on our end.
Thanks!

TNP 11 has been pushed back for an early November release.
The selection tool in TNP 11 will allow limited bulk operations over a geographic area, such as show/hide all layers [markers, tracks, etc.] and exporting all markers/routes/tracks within the selected area. It will not (yet) support bulk editing operations (such as "Make all markers green")

Any update on this and/or TNP 11? Definitely still a much desired feature.

When dealing with multiple Markers ( I deal with 500 [+/-] in an area). It would be very helpful to have a drag and select tool. Allowing one to select ALL Markers in a geographic area. Instead of having to laboriously hide/delete all markers not wanted on the list.

We are making *some* progress on the multi-editing feature. TNP 11 (due out in early 2016) will have a new "selection tool" which will be needed to select map areas for certain operations. [I'd rather not get into details yet, because we are still working out the design.] Eventually, we can use that tool to perform multi-edit operations on layers. However, as I noted previously, we can't support mult-edit operations until we rework "Undo"; which we can't do until we re-implement all the layers into a common code format; which we can't do until we finish TNP 11.
So that's the honest status as of this moment.

Any update on this one Ed, or perhaps an estimated release date of version 11?
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I don't have anything new to report on this feature. We are finishing up version 10.4 - which will have a completely new "Units" preference that allows the specification of a wide variety of measurements for length/distance, height/elevation, and area. This required a whole pile of changes "under the hood" but I think everyone will be very pleased with the results.
Our next big release is version 11, and I can't publicly disclose its feature set. However, it also contains a major reworking of the core engine inside TNP, which will allow flexibility and growth in the years to come,

Any update on this and/or Grouping Ed? Would completely knockout our need for BaseCamp and really speed things up.
Thanks!

Yes. We do read these comments and "votes".
We have talked *at length* about adding this feature. It sounds very easy to implement, until you consider "undo".The way the undo is currently implemented in TNP is "single level". In other words, it only keeps track of the last operation performed. If we hooked up multi-edit, whenever Undo was chosen, it would only undo the last individual change. In other words, if you changed 5 markers to be green, then undo, you would have 4 markers green and one back to its original color.
To fix this, we'd have to rewrite undo, which is a big job - but one we want to do. So we are waiting for the resources to rewrite undo, then we can deal with multi-selection/multi-editing.

I would like to bump this, to a) see if it exists, and b) make another nudge that it should exist. Just to clarify with an example, imagine I have 5 markers and I want them to be Green and have a triangle as the symbol. Currently I would need to go through each of those markers, one by one, to edit the symbol and color. Ideal functionality would be Shift/Ctrl clicking the group that I want, then having the window change to an "overall" options view, where I can then select triangle and green once, having it change for all of my markers. The same going for routes and tracks.
Garmin BaseCamp has this functionality, just to provide further example.

Would like a way to hide the name on all the markers without editing each marker individually?
-
Sam Chan commented
Would it be possible to hide/show markers based on the symbol assigned to them? For example, I want to import all the cell antennas within a 5 mile radius and assign them one specific marker symbol. I want to be able to declutter the map by hiding all markers with that symbol.
I know it is possible to export it as a shape file and then import. However, there are information associated with each cell site marker that I would like to retain and I am not sure if that information will be in the shape file.
-
Yes. That is our intent. We'd also like to add true "grouping" of layers so that some markers, routes, tracks, etc. can be "grouped" together for easy show/hide toggling, copying to clipboard, and other similar functions.

Please clarify? Is this a request to be able to edit multiple sublayers/data objects at once, i.e. make these 5 tracks green or make these 3 markers use this certain symbol?
